Frequently Asked Questions
Is dog poop really that bad for my yard?
Yes, and it’s worse than most people realize.
Dog waste is not fertilizer. It contains bacteria, parasites, and excess nutrients that can damage grass, create strong odors, and contaminate your yard. Left untreated, it can attract pests and make outdoor areas unsafe for kids and pets.
Regular removal helps:
Reduce odor and bacteria buildup
Protect your lawn from dead spots
Keep your yard cleaner and safer year-round
That’s why consistent, recurring service is the easiest way to prevent problems before they start.
How do you keep our pets safe?
We take gate security and cross-property hygiene very seriously.
Every time we enter and exit your property, we check and secure all gates. Before leaving, we perform a final walk-through to confirm the gate is fully closed and latched.
For added peace of mind, we also send a photo of your secured gate at the end of each service, so you can visually confirm everything was left exactly as it should be.
In addition, all scooping tools and equipment are sanitized before moving on to the next yard. This helps prevent cross-contamination and reduces the spread of bacteria or parasites between properties.
Our process is designed to protect:
Your dog’s safety
Your home and property
The health of your yard
We treat every yard as if our own dogs live there.
Can dog poop contaminate water systems?
Yes. When dog waste is left on the ground, rain and irrigation can wash bacteria and nutrients into storm drains, which often flow directly into local waterways without treatment.
According to the Environmental Protection Agency and multiple environmental studies, dog waste can contribute harmful bacteria such as E. coli and fecal coliform to streams, ponds, and lakes. These contaminants can degrade water quality and pose risks to people, pets, and wildlife.
Regular removal helps:
Reduce bacteria entering stormwater runoff
Protect local waterways and drainage systems
Keep yards and neighborhoods cleaner and safer
Picking up dog waste isn’t just about a clean yard; it’s also about being a responsible pet owner and protecting the environment.
How often should my yard be serviced?
Most customers choose weekly service, especially homes with multiple dogs.
For households with high dog traffic or 3+ dogs, 2× weekly service keeps the yard consistently clean and helps prevent odor, bacteria, and buildup between visits.
Bi-weekly service works for lighter usage, but weekly or 2× weekly service provides the best results year-round.
If you’re unsure, we’ll help you choose the best option for your yard.
Do I need to be home during service?
Nope! As long as we have access to your yard, you don’t need to be home.
We’ll always secure your gate when we’re finished.
What happens to the dog waste after you remove it?
All waste is double-bagged and properly disposed of in your outdoor trashcan. If no outdoor trashcan is available we will discreetly place on the side of your house. We stay compliant with all local guidelines.
Is your yard deodorizing service safe for pets and kids?
Yes. Our deodorizing products are pet safe, kid safe, and grass safe when used as directed. Your pets can return to the yard once the application has dried.
Do you work in all weather conditions?
We service rain or shine.
In the event of severe weather or unsafe conditions, we’ll reschedule and notify you.
Do you offer one-time cleanups?
Yes, but most customers save money and frustration with recurring service. One-time cleanups are best for move-outs, parties, or getting started before ongoing service.
What if my yard is really bad right now?
You’re not alone. This is very common.
We offer initial cleanups to get your yard back to baseline, followed by affordable recurring service to keep it that way.
Are there contracts or long-term commitments?
No contracts.
You can pause or cancel service at any time with proper notice.
What if my dog is in the yard?
Friendly dogs are welcome!
If your dog is aggressive or anxious, we ask that they be secured during service for everyone’s safety.
Do you clean up the entire yard?
Yes. We carefully check all accessible areas of your yard where dogs roam, including corners, fences, and high-traffic spots.
